The Secret Box
I have this secret that I just cannot tell
So I’ll whisper it all but never yell
I’ll lock it
and hide it
So no one will hear
It’s a secret to me that is very dear
Now the locked up truth will never be heard
Not even to a bird
No person galore
Not even if there was a war
Now the Secret Box shall never be seen
I won’t dream about it
and I won't blow off steam
I can stay away from all the lies
of guarding it
Yes none of those things shall keep me from spreading my wings
and with those wings yes I will fly
and secret, to you I say goodbye.
Woah. I never knew you were a poet! Great job!
hmmm i don't recall showing you that poem, I love that poem, but don't remember sharing it.....i can't remember who wrote it though
I like it. The little rhyming here and there is creative, and the message you get across is insightful and realistic. Nice job overall, the comparisons to different nouns are vast, but also reveal the emotion of desperation and taunting of sharing the secret, yet are loyal to one's mind. I love this very much. Magnificent job Simon!
You showed me the poem in 5th Grade.
Thank you! I worked hard on the poem and right before I posted the poem I made some minor changes. It was really fun to make it rhyme and still make sense. I'm glad you like it! Maybe I'll post more poems. Who knows? Thanks again!
